Join us at Power of the Purse as we raise funds for Wabash Valley children. It will be an afternoon of mingling with friends, samplings from local restaurants, purse raffles, and a live purse auction!
All funds raised from the Power of the Purse event benefit the United Way’s Success By 6 Impact Council’s Real Men Read program aiding in the mission to prepare children to enter school ready to succeed. The program, entering its 12th year, brings adult mentors into kindergartens across our 6-county service area to read to students. Each child receives a copy of each book to take home, resulting in five new books in their home library. The program encourages the student’s literacy skills and joy of reading, provides mentoring opportunities for adults with students, and gives students extra attention and positive role models who value education.
