Kristie West

Kristie began her career with GE Aviation in 2005 as a Six Sigma Black Belt, supporting the overall capacity strategy for the Supply Chain Division. In 2006, she then was a Master Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing Leader for the Supply Chain where she owned the Lean Six Sigma strategy for all of the manufacturing sites globally to drive productivity and improve product lead times. In 2007, she moved on to lead the start-up of Batesville, MS where she led all initiatives throughout the construction of the facility, including the creation of the first team on the ground and established a high performance work team culture. In October of 2008, Kristie was the Plant Leader for the Terre Haute facilities. She had overall responsibility for manufacturing structural fabrications and component repair, as well, led the transformation of the culture for teaming, initiated volunteer programs in the community, and defined the future growth strategy. In 2011, Kristie was the CF6/GEnx Customer Programs Leader, owning contracts with 30+ airlines, MRO partnership agreements, and led a global team of Customer Program Managers, as well as led the Sales/Services integration of the CF6 & GEnx product lines. In September of 2013, Kristie became the Growth Playbook Leader for the Aviation Supply Chain which is 80+ locations in 19 countries, owning strategic planning and capital investment planning & execution across the business.

Prior to GE, Kristie had over 8 years of experience of progressive growth in leadership in manufacturing in automotive with Navistar and commercial HVAC with United Technology’s Carrier Corporation.

Kristie holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Purdue University’s School of Technology where she is a member of the Technology, Leadership, & Innovation Advisory Board. She and her husband Mat reside in Cincinnati, OH and enjoy playing golf, being Colts fans, and spending time with their families in Indiana (Fowler & West Terre Haute).

TERRE HAUTE — Some area shoppers have created a good reason to spend money for the benefit of the community.

Shop United is a charitable event benefitting local merchants and United Way agencies in the Wabash Valley, and the first shopping trip has been set for Sept. 27 with a 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. event in Clark and Vigo counties.

For Terre Haute area residents, they will meet at the First Financial Comfort Center on South Seventh Street to board a motorcoach traveling to Clark County, Ill.

From the Tribune Star - TERRE HAUTE — Feeding one person for seven days on just $31.70.

That’s only $4.53 per day, which is the average amount of assistance given to Vigo County participants in SNAP — the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps.

In recognition of Hunger Action Month, the United way of the Wabash Valley is conducting its third annual United Way Hunger Challenge to bring attention and support to the reality of hunger in the area.
