United Way invests your donation in many well-managed programs that change lives and strengthen our entire community. The United Way of the Wabash Valley works with Community Partners whose programs focus on the three building blocks to a better life: education, health and community basics. With your support, these programs are addressing the community’s needs and creating lasting change.
Community Partner Agencies
Assists victims of house and apartment fires, and natural or man-made disasters. They also offer compassionate services in four other areas: education programs that promote health and safety; support and comfort for military members and their families; the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products; and international relief and development programs.
Help build strong communities and improve quality of life in West Central Indiana. They work to enhance the independence and quality of life of seniors, people with disabilities, at-risk individuals and their families by furnishing these persons with information and connecting them with community based services that help them live with dignity and security.
Helps meet the pharmaceutical needs of low income elders, working poor families and those suffering from physical and mental conditions in Clark and Crawford Counties in Illinois. Also provides affordable clothing and school supplies for children from low-income families in Clark and Crawford counties.
Offers compassionate and caring assistance to needy neighbors in the Wabash Valley. It is a direct services agency to serve the poor, the homeless, the elderly, the neglected children and the needy. Programs include the Bethany House, Food Bank, Christmas Store and Ryves Youth Center.
Building protective skills to minimize the impact of developmental risk factors. They provide services “cradle to college” ensuring children grow up in safe, nurturing environments in our community.
CRADLES of Clay County is a Family Learning Ministry with a mission dedicated to cultivating responsible adults by developing leadership, education, and self-sufficiency. CRADLES envisions student’s parents taking their place in local communities as self-sufficient citizens within healthy family units. CRADLES will support student parents pursuing an education by providing developmentally appropriate childcare, parenting/life skills, training, and mentoring.
Provides solution-focused counseling to individuals and families. The mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families though quality, affordable, counseling and education.
Assists the community in the facilitation of positive youth development in Clark County by networking community organizations, promoting strong family units and supporting school efforts through mentoring.
Enhance the quality of health and life of the elderly, disabled, sick, home bound and high risk children in our community by delivering nutritional meals and providing a Well Being Checks by our community volunteer drivers.
Dedicated to enhance the mental health of the community and improve the quality of life of persons with mental illness, through prevention, advocacy, education, and services.
Assists low-income families and individuals in Sullivan County with emergency medical services and emergency needs that are not covered by grant funds and cannot be fully met by immediate family or other agencies.
Sprouts Childcare provides early childhood education in West Terre Haute. Their programs include: Wee Sprouts Childcare for infants and toddlers, Little Sprouts Preschool, and Big Sprouts Pre-K and After School Care.
Provide a safe, fun-filled and positive environment with high expectations, recognition for improvement and supportive relationships. Programs are designed to obtain the three priority outcomes for youth we serve of academic success, good character & citizenship and healthy lifestyles.
Provides quality child care to children ages 3-10 years. A curriculum-based preschool program is presented daily within the daycare environment. Before and after school programs & daily summer programs are provided to school age children.
An early literacy program for children age 3 months to 5-years to help pre-reading children prepare for reading. It incorporates music, movement, nursery rhymes, book reading and much more in a fun-filled thirty-minute
session for children with focus on the parent or caregiver to continue
pre-reading skills at home.
Open for all mature adults to take part in activities that promote physical, social and mental well-being therefore maintaining, enriching, and lengthening their lives, and allowing them to live independently longer.
Provide access to quality and affordable healthcare to a target population to those living at or below 200% of federal poverty level, those uninsured or underinsured and those with Medicaid coverage who reside in the Wabash Valley.
Provides recreational, educational, health and social services for the citizens of West Terre Haute and surrounding communities. Programs are offered for youth, adults and senior citizens all with a focus of promoting a healthier lifestyle, and organized activities in a safe and structured environment.
