Campaign
Dear
Members of the Wabash Valley:
We are
proud to serve as the 2008 United Way of the Wabash Valley Campaign
Co-Chairs. The United Way is an organization that brings communities
together. All over America, and right here in the Wabash Valley,
the United Way is dedicated to help increase the capacity of
people in our community to care for one another.
In the
Wabash Valley alone, the United Way serves over 43 agencies that
provide a number of services as diverse as the people that benefit
from them. Last year close to 190,000 lives were changed by
programs and services that were funded by the United Way of the
Wabash Valley.
We look forward to visiting
these agencies and observing the work that they are doing that impact
the lives of people in the Wabash Valley. We have scheduled
an agency tour for the campaign cabinet members, and we are excited
to experience the caring power of our community.
As you are aware, the
2008 campaign begins with many foreseeable challenges that have
affected our economic climate. Because we recognize that these
obstacles do exist, you can be sure that we are putting a strategic
plan in place and are prepared to rise to the occasion to meet these
challenges with the help of perseverance and the strength of the
community that we are proud to call home. Our cabinet is armed
with unique ideas for fundraising and exciting new special events.
We are committeed to growing the campaign and we are hoping to surpass
our goals and all expectations.
Although this year's campaign
is in direct competition with several other local major capital
campaigns, we are confident that with the effectiveness that the
new structure of the campaign cabinet will provide, we are destined
for success.
The United Way of America
is launching a new branding initiative with the theme "Live
United." Underneath everything we are, underneath
everything we do, we are all people. Connected, interdependent,
united. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence
the condition of all. That's what it means to LIVE UNITED.
It takes everyone in the
community working together to create a brighter future. Together,
we can accomplish more than any single person or group can on its
own. We urge you to join us, make a contribution to the United
Way. Become a part of a movement to LIVE UNITED and energize
and inspire the people around you to make a difference.
